Shit like this disgusts me. I’m ashamed to be associated with bigots who would create an e-mail like this and those who would perpetuate the ignorance and prejudice. You should see the insane number of forwards that came from this. Easily hundreds of people cc’d and easily dozens who forwarded it eventually into my inbox.
What the hell is wrong with people?
Is it really that hard to pull your head out of your own ass, investigate some fucking facts, and – I don’t know – maybe act LIKE A FUCKING CHRISTIAN every once in a while? What would Jesus do, people? I bet he’d throw up in his mouth just knowing people use his name to perpetuate hatred, violence, and intolerance. I’m not even a Christian, and I’m vomiting in my mouth on his behalf.
If I get time, I’m going to craft a response to this that has a picture of a Christmas stamp and a laundry list of all the violence perpetuated by Christians on innocent people (like, oh, say, the rabid pro-life Xian bombers, the good Christians who formed this nation by delivering small pox-infested blankets to the indigenous tribes of this land, slave owners who used the Bible to justify owning people as property and treating them accordingly, and OH YEAH the fucking Inquisition, bitches!). It'll be fun to blame an entire religion for the acts of a relative few, especially if I can get my racist on. Woot! [insert Dueling Banjos song here]

Sometimes I just want to go live in an imaginary world where people are all smart, well-read, accepting, attractive, creative and organized. Everyone knows how to cook, everyone has good taste, and they are open-minded, funny, intellectual and there is no such thing as formalwear or even office casual. No one works, everyone is wealthy and ideas are considered more precious than gold. In this special place they chat for hours over coffee, collaborate on interesting projects, there is plenty of time to read and people connect on a deep, meaningful level.

It is a shame that people just forward things and believe things without really doing research. I am a Christian and I am the first to admit that we Christians have done a lot of really horrible things in the name of God and Jesus. And really as Christians we are called to be accepting of all...and non-judgmental.
